3D LASER Scanning services for fast and efficient data capture of the natural and built environment.

Operated by one of our High-Definition Survey (HDS) Specialists our scanners can capture a three-dimensional (3D) photo-realistic image.

We are currently also using the mobile Geo-slam Zeb-Revo laser scanner.  For example, this instrument could be used to measure underground tanks that are inaccessible to the surveyor.

3D Laser Scanning is the process of capturing a full, spatially accurate, 3D data set of any subject. Using this technique, highly detailed and accurate datasets known as ‘point clouds’ can be collected in a rapid manner, minimising potential disruption and capturing survey-grade information. The option to overlay HDR imagery onto the point cloud allows for a realistic end product.

The scans are then combined to create a single, comprehensive dataset. This base dataset or ‘point cloud’ can then be used in a variety of ways depending on the specific needs of the project.

DWE’s expertise in HDS data extraction supports our clients with a comprehensive array of deliverables in BIM (Revit, IFC), CAD (AutoCAD, Microstation) and design packages (Civil3D, 12D, Genio, MX, Microstation, Vectorworks, ArchiCAD) or Intelligent Models (PDMS, AutoPlant) – Reality Captured. Certainty Delivered.

Once a point cloud data set has been collected on site and processed, it becomes a single ‘point of truth’ dataset which can be utilised in various applications such as: Topographical and Measured Building Surveys, 3D Modelling and Rights of Light Analysis, Asset Management, Deformation and Volumetric Analysis, M&E Surveys and BIM.
